Eric Hollaway

Eric Hollaway (b.1966 in St Petersburg, Florida) is an American basso profondo, able to reach an F1. His formal training lasted only 2 years and came in the form of a voice scholarship to St Petersburg College. which he received in 1992 after being discovered singing in their community chorus. It was then that he was first introduced to the world of Opera singing “O Isis und Osiris” from Mozart’s Die Zauberflӧta, “Il Lacerato Spirito” from Verdi’s Simon Boccanegra, as well as other bass arias. Eric recalls:

“I remember always being told to come up an octave…that I was too deep whenever I sang in choruses.  After hearing the term ‘oktavist’ for the first time a couple of years ago and learning what it meant…it all made sense.”

Eric is currently studying to learn Russian Orthodox Liturgy but can be heard anytime on his YouTube channel where he sings American Standards, operatic arias, Broadway tunes and more. Occasionally, Eric also does voiceovers and is the voice of Oktavism.com. He can be heard in our promotional trailer.
