Irinarch Zragewsky

Oktavist Irinarch Zragewsky was born in Kiev on January 13, 1886. He attended university there and studied for the bar. His range is a remarkable one, even for a Russian bass, covering three octaves down to the low G below the bass clef. Zragewsky immigrated to the United States in 1923, and settled in New York with the other members of the Russian Imperial Singers. He toured through both North and South America during the 1930s and 40s with the Russian Imperial Singers.
